As we all know, I heart Ronson landed in JCPenny stores nationwide this Spring. Last month I randomely found myself at JCPenny with my mother and was pleasantly surprised at how cute the collection was. Charlotte Ronson offers up a range of casual and dressy styles from cotton T-shirts and tanks, cotton sweaters and cardigans, a cotton canvas army jacket, leggings, denim jeans and printed polyester and cotton voile dresses. I finally downloaded Pandora to my blackberry. It's awesome btw. I typed in Gram Parsons and Break My Mind came on. There is something about country music that hits a spot that no other can touch. Made me want to crack a tinnie and dust off my old Flying Burrito Bros records.

Feed me Seymour! I recently visited the Conservatory of Flowers here in SF and came across these carnivorous beauties. The name Nepenthes was given by Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus in reference to a passage in Homer's Odyssey. "Nepenthe" literally means "without grief" and, in Greek Mythology, is a drug that quells all sorrows with forgetfulness. So, this is how the plant eats- The pitcher shaped cups are filled with a liquid that attracts insects with the odor of nectar. Because of a slippery wax on the interior walls, the insect can not hold on and ultimately falls into the muck. The motion caused by the struggle stimulates digestive glands to release an acid. This goo can dissolve a fly in just a few hours. Ew, kind of.

San Zhi is an abandoned "would be" vacation resort on the northern coast of Taiwan. Apparently the project was built sometime in the late 70's/ early 80's and was never actually completed. There are several stories as to why these remarkable pods were abandoned. Locals say the resort was closed after a series of fatal accidents occurred during construction and is now haunted. Some speculate it will be or has been torn down. Others rumor that destroying the homes of spirits and lost souls is a major no no in Asian culture. Haunted or not- I heart this place. It resembles a future life I believed I would have when I was a kid, courtesy The Jetsons perhaps.
